And so next comes the visit from Nona and Papu. We had an awesome trip together to Switzerland where we stayed right on the Lake of Luzern in a really nice bed and breakfast. We visited both Adligenswil and Udligenswil, where we lived so many years ago. It was the first time my mom had returned since those years. Luckily she remembered her German well enough to get us around and to meet some nice people along the way. We were blessed with beautiful weather. So much fun.

The Rigi
We rode to the top of Mt. Rigi and walked some of the way down. We attempted to walk all of the way down, but it got steep and tricky.
Interlaken and Trümmelbach Falls
I tried not to include too many pictures of the waterfalls but it is hard to delete them. The glaciers from the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau drain into the mountain and form the falls. This is a must see if you are in Switzerland.

Chambon sur Lignon
Aimé took us to visit the village where his mother grew up. This is the region that helped shelter children (and some families) during the holocaust. Because it is such a remote region, there already existed a natural isolation from state rule in general. This isolation made fostering Jewish children perhaps easier, but not really less dangerous. It was the Protestant folks known as the Juste (the righteous) that would receive children arriving on train, car, foot, whatever means. As you can imagine, reading and listening to the stories at the museum was very moving.

Ferme en Ferme
This weekend hundreds of farms in the Beaujolais opened their doors for tours. We first visited a biosynergy farm/winery. There was a lot of love. We were not there for the nude picture but I think it speaks to the general feeling of the farm.
Then we visited the hipster goat farm with cheese making on the premises. There were cool people playing music dressed in black and bunnies to hold in your lap..
