Bonjour!
Yes, I know, it's been a long time. A lot of nothing big has been happening accept of course the awesome visit from Auntie Teva and Andy. Their stay was too short for all involved, but, c'est la vie. Some people have real jobs.
As I sit on this blog more events are occurring. First there was the fish of April. Which is April fools day. There are the usual jokes and pranks but also the children make fish and stick them on your back, as a joke. You are not supposed to notice when they put it there and then, who's the fish fool? I have no photos of the fish, but plenty were made.
I have also added Carnaval in April pictures. This consisted of all the kids in primary and maternelle (pre-school and kindergarten) in the district dressing up for the day, having lots of snacks at school and marching in a parade around town. Afterwards is a "ball" for the kids (dance with snacks) and a dinner of mussels and fries for the family. We missed the dinner and of course "made apéro".
Other than that, we have been basking in the start of spring with good food and great friends. We feel so fortunate for our experience here. I continue to try and avoid thinking of our return. I love and miss everyone in the new world, but I know that this is a once in a lifetime experience. Short and so sweet (and occasionally extremely uncomfortable and rarely rather annoying).
